Lemons

from Retrospective by Andrew Huang

/

lyrics

i'm lemon bitter
a venom spitter
a rose stem in winter
you grow but you can't get a grade to demonstrate the seventh faith
and inseminate your better days with lemonade
when life gives you limes and lemmings
it's a citrus twist i spend my time condemning with a witless fist
but check:
my fitness splits pits switched in slickness
with a bit of blood mixed in so i could bridge this canyon with a quickness
damned if i don't hit this
andrew's in a witness box factory
enacting these rhapsodies adapted freely from a magic breed of god
still coasting, wheat-paste postering for most things that preach against wasted paper
an actual notch above a stapler
but unless a landfill turns into a vapor before a landslide
i'm gonna face it later
i'm lemon fresh
my denim pressed
and top made of expensive mesh
to rock steady at my pensive best
and if my envy's less green than the environment
then team, let's wear it
i'm running out of things to cherish
and daren't say that i'm this transparent
when life gives us lemons we make tiny batteries
